THE Youth Observer has the
largest circulation of any publication in Oman. No fewer then 170,000
printed copies are distributed.
This is because the Youth Observer is circulated to students in the 15-16
age group as well as appearing in Oman's leading newspapers, the Arabic
language paper Oman and of course the English language Daily Observer.
Youth Observer is produced in co-operation with the Ministry of Education
and has an interactive text in both English and Arabic. No stories are
translated but a story in Arabic can be linked to one in Arabic in terms
of subject or theme.
Youth Observer is designed as a lively newspaper, which includes both
issues of importance and entertainment, designed to appeal to youth. The
aim is to produce a newspaper, which appeals to youth and is largely
written by youth. Many of our regular columnists are themselves young
students.
YO also wants to become a forum for debate both electronically and in the
paper itself. Let us know your ideas for the future of Oman Youth and what
you think about it and enter our writing competition.
Youth Observer is a joint initiative between government and private
enterprise, being sponsored by Nawras, Omantel, Shell, PDO,
the Saud Bahwan Group and Waljat Collages.
It is designed by OEPPA and the website is hosted by Oman TradaNet.
