IF you take a giraffe
out of its natural habitat in the vast plains of the savannah and force
it to live in the city, you would have a very unhappy animal on your
hands. Every living creature on this Earth has a natural state in which
it is happiest. And this holds true for human beings as well. Each
person is a unique individual, with their own particular interests and
likes and dislikes.
Some people are more conservative; others
have a preference for unusual hobbies. Some individuals like sweet food;
others prefer sour flavours. Someone might be very creative, while
another has a very practical personality. No two people are exactly
alike. For each person, there will be a type of leisure pursuit and work
that is not only best suited to that person, but that makes them feel at
peace with themselves and the world around them.
As a teenager growing into adulthood, part
of your time will be spent discovering who you are and what it is that
truly makes you feel happy. You will want to find the job and career for
example, that makes you feel excited about waking up every morning. You
will need to be involved in activities which contribute to your sense of
wellbeing and enjoyment.
You will know if you have chosen the wrong
career, because waking up each day will become a chore, and you will not
feel enthusiastic about what you are doing. Infact, you will probably
feel quite miserable. Whatever decisions you make in your life, remember
to make choices that remain true to your intrinsic self. When deciding
on your future, be sure to love what you do and to always do what you
love.
